PLC Cabling
Connecting control systems with discrete wiring can be a difficult and time-consuming process. Wiring with preassembled system cables with multi-position system plugs can save time assembling control systems. The technique of using these predefined cables reduces connection time and guarantees an error-free, compact, and polarized connection. A front adapter plate replaces the existing discrete I/O connection with an industry standard plug connection. With the combination of the three system components: front adapter, system cable and interface module, the planning and construction time of a control cabinet can be greatly reduced.
The VARIOFACE product line can be tailored to fit your specific application requirements. These include:
- Simple 1:1 signal transfer with or without LEDs

Custom Solutions
Some specific applications require only a modification of a current product while other may require a complete custom solution. Phoenix Contact has the capability to modify and create solution-based modules for a customer's specific requirements. The module that is designed is only limited by the requirements of the customer's application. Modifications may include simple procedures such as adding fusing to an LED indication module or inserting knife disconnect switches to a feed-through module. Phoenix Contact also has the ability to create advanced custom and proprietary solutions for the customer. These solutions may include custom relay modules for motor starting capabilities or possibly an active VARIOFACE module with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with input modules and fusing. By utilizing the abilities of Phoenix Contact, you can reduce the size of your control system by taking bulky and space consuming components such as relays or isolators and integrating them onto a custom module with a high degree of functionality. This, in turn, would increase your control panel throughput and decrease your inventory.
